Within the ACT Ed-Fi exchange system, users have the ability to transfer ACT Test scores to their Ed-Fi ODS through the Ed-Fi Assessment Outcomes API.  The system provides an interactive management interface or portal where users can initiate asynchronous data transfers for a single student or all students within a given administration.  Successful and failed transfers are logged and viewable through the portal.  Users have the ability to retry failures as well as resend previous successful attempts.   

To enable student assessment exchanges an administrator for the state or district must first provide their Ed-FI ODS API connection details, including API url, client key, client secret, ODS version, and student unique identifier roster field selector.  Upon successful ODS configuration the administrator will be able to initiate a one-time assessment metadata synchronization that will push in Assessment and Objective Assessment definitions for The ACT assessments to their ODS instance.
