This documentation contains conceptual and how-to information for analysts and technical personnel using the Ed-Fi Sample Data Generator. The Sample Data Generator has many features that can be initiated and configured via configuration.
As an Ed-Fi Exchange supported product, source code to the Sample Data Generator is available as open-source on GitHub. The documentation for the Sample Data Generator is available for use cases below:
- User Guide to use a precompiled version to generate sample data using generated XML configuration by NCES district ID or custom configured XML for use cases.
- Developers' Guide to use for reference of the source code, understanding the internal workings and/or to make customizations or extensions of the tool.
Audience
This documentation is for technical professionals who work with educational data systems, such as software developers, system integrators, and technical data analysts.
Prerequisites
To gain the most benefit from this information, the reader should already be familiar with the following knowledge areas:
- Ed-Fi technologies such as the Ed-Fi ODS / API and Ed-Fi Data Standard.
