Ed-Fi RFC 12 - Change Log for v3.0d
Overview
Data Standard v3.0d is the proposed next major version of the Ed-Fi Data Standard.
This new version includes a number of revisions to the Ed-Fi Unifying Data Model (UDM). Those changes are reflected in the REST API and XML bindings for the standard.
In 2017, the Alliance released Data Standard v2.1. Since that release was never operationalized within the Ed-Fi community (i.e., no API or bulk exchange systems were deployed that were based on the v2.1 standard), the documentation herein covers all changes since Data Standard v2.0. This allows vendors, agencies, and others to understand all changes that will impact current implementations.
To assist review, changes have been classified into major and minor, but these classifications are guidelines only. We strongly recommend reviewing Ed-Fi RFC 12 - All Individual Changes. The list of individual changes lists the change version (i.e., v2.1 or v3.0) in case that information is of interest to any community members.
Changes from Data Standard 3.0c
The 3.0d version introduces some changes to the 3.0c version, based primarily on community feedback. To help those who reviewed 3.0c in detail, those changes are listed below. All other change log pages have also been trued-up with and included in the overall 3.0d change log narrative and lists.
