- 93 Use cases to start - these will be changing over time
- Sample of Area's Covered by use cases
- Enrolling students
- Student teachers
- Observations based on rubrics
- Survey data
- Post completion - what are the teachers doing in the field
- A number of use cases were reviewed and dashboards were shown that covered the areas
- University partnerships, are Teacher Candidates retained
- Are the Teacher Candidates / teachers in high need schools and districts
- Have Teacher Candidates achieved certifications
- Program candidate satisfaction with program
Dashboard Discussion
- Dashboards are being developed and are almost complete will be posted to the Ed-Fi Exchange soon
- Dashboard are built in PowerBI and are run off tables built with SSAS (not directly connected to Ed-Fi Tables)
Questions and Discussions
- When will TPDM become a part of Ed-Fi core
- Determinations are still being made about if and what parts of TPDM will become a part of Ed-Fi Core
- Determinations are still being made about if and what parts of TPDM will become a part of Ed-Fi Core
- In the pilots – were there existing DSA between TPPs and districts or was it managed separately?
CR – some yes, some no. Relay – had some DSA with NYC DOE. UTRGV didn’t have DSA but have helped them develop templates for data they should ask for from districts to provide the right info needed. Understand what district can and can’t provide to TPPS (e.g., won’t provide student level, but maybe student perception)
Do both parties have access to reporting for the dash/data?
CR – they could. It’s up to orgs to determine how to share.
University-School Partnership – can share data between principal/superintendent about completers
Is there a use case for district to evaluate their TPP (providers) = how students performed and rank by how they do? (Rick Rozzelle)
CR – yes, but need to narrow down on district/state use case
Partnership survey to principal or mentor teacher survey.
Any discussion about leveraging beyond teacher candidate to the program (talent management at district level)
CR – yes, some discussion, we need to address going forward and use work group to move forward. Not an existing effort right now.
Is part of Model dealing with student growth
Built in, but none of the pilots have the data to fill in
Use case – how are my teachers doing compared to other novice teachers or all compared to all
Joining descriptor tables – use Ed-Fi descriptors?
Liz – yes some ed-fi, some customer
If you’re a district/state and want to track retention, where they are going – this is the place would go to store. What is generalization to use this for other stuff.
Ana - Tulsa is using talent mgt version of this – put extensions, they produce dash in Ruby, very narrow part of model. It is used in a district.
CR – worth exploration
State perspective – overlap in what they are interested in from TPP and potentially connect with existing data from district (employment, license and cert, etc) - have opportunity for complete picture at a high level, without observation & survey data detail.
On Dash – teacher observation data – are there diff vendors that have API working with Ed-Fi
Right now, TK20 – used by TPP to track data
