This documentation serves as an introduction to the features and significant changes made for the Ed-Fi ODS / API v2.1.1.

In addition to a number of enhancements and bug fixes that improve stability and performance, this release introduces API Composite Resources, which allow platform hosts to create API endpoints that combine and re-shape resources – analogous to the way a database view can join information from multiple tables. The as-shipped configuration contains two useful API Composites, one for enrollment data and another for assessment information.

This release remains backward compatible with the Ed-Fi ODS / API v2.0 and v2.1 releases, and is still aligned to the Ed-Fi Data Standard v2.0. 

Audience

This documentation is for technical professionals who work with educational data, including business analysts, database administrators, and software developers.
